Since no one wants to imagine the backlash
evident by increasing employee contributions, non-traditional cost
containment mechanisms should be given plenty of thought. Try bundling
benefits with one carrier, cutting plans less used, educating employees on
how to properly use benefits, or using premium discounts to counter
behaviors known to wreck experience ratings.
